I have serious issues with both parties and because I don't know very much about economics I just don't mention it first, because I usually lose debates when I do that. I disagree with most republicans on abortion and awesome rights but I disagree with democrats on gun control. The reason I don't have an NRA card is not because I am not pro-gun but because the NRA is a political organization and supports republicans. If the NRA weren't political I would join.
I don't think that any candidate or party has all the answers, this is why we have a two party system. It is also for this reason that I do not wish to ever become a member of either party. Both parties at the very least try to do good, if far-left and far-right activists would remember this, we probably wouldn't be having this conversation.
This said, I have only met one person at this school who was a jerk about my differing political opinions, and they were also a birther (Obama born in Kenya) and quite frankly an idiot. It seems that the reason the tea party looks bad is because reporters find the most outrageous people to film. This makes sense because outrage makes good news and it is a reporter's job to find good interesting news.

I agree that neither party has the answers, but I do believe that conservative economic ideas are more beneficial especially considering our style of government and economy. Plenty of people will tell me that I'm clearly dellusional: "come on...Bush? Recession? HELLO?!?!" but 1) President Bush does not carry the majority of the blame for the past 4 years or so and 2) the policies of Bush that DID contribute to the recession are not ideas that a conservative would support...

As I said, you will almost certainly win any economic policy debate (at least until I take economics, hehehe).

I hate Fox News so much. I mean, between Fox and Friends, O'Reiley, and Glenn Beck it's so ridiculous.
